ARK's Flat Textured Spoons

They are particularly suitable for introducing texture into pureed foods such as yogurt, applesauce, and stage 1 baby foods.

One side of the spoon is textured, and the other side is smooth. Present the spoon with the textured side up to stimulate the upper lip, or with the textured side down to stimulate the lower lip and tongue. The ends of the spoon provide different sensory input: the end with lines for mild stimulation and the end with bumps for more intense input. Start with the lines and gradually progress to the bumps for increasing tactile input.

Proudly designed and made in the USA by ARK Therapeutic, these double-sided spoons are each 6 inches (about 15 cm) long and 0.75 inches (about 2 cm) wide. Sold in a pack of 3, the colors may vary. These spoons are dishwasher safe and made from medical-grade materials, FDA compliant, without lead, phthalates, PVC, BPA, or latex. They work best with pureed foods like yogurt, applesauce, and stage 1 baby foods.

Each spoon is rigid enough to hold food but still offers some flexibility in case someone has a strong bite reflex. These flat feeding spoons are more rigid than their 'bookmark cousins'. They can also be used as tongue depressors.
