Using the Build-A-Grid Magnetic Demonstration Grid in the classroom simplifies the clarification of abstract concepts, such as fractions, decimals, and area models. The set consists of a magnetic frame and 16 different sheets that can be placed over each other to create the desired grid pattern. By inserting an array card with vertical lines into the frame and then placing a transparency with horizontal lines over it, the required grid pattern is formed. This grid pattern can then be secured by closing the frame.

An additional advantage of this set is that teachers can use a dry-erase marker (not included) to write on the horizontal transparency. The write-on/wipe-off frame border allows teachers to model problem-solving strategies.
