TalkTools - Sensory Friendly Bite Blocks - Purple

The Sensory Bite Blocks from TalkTools, available at Senso-Care, are highly functional tools specifically designed to promote the symmetrical build-up of jaw strength, jaw stability, and to strengthen jaw control through variation of jaw heights. They are ideal for developing and strengthening jaw muscles, especially in clients with weak jaw muscles evident during speech sound production or feeding, such as with reduced mobility, sliding, or jutting forward.

The Sensory Friendly Bite Blocks work exactly the same as the original version but are made of a softer, more pliable material. This may be appealing to clients who prefer biting into a softer surface as they work their way through the Bite Block hierarchy. They are widely used in speech therapy and occupational therapy and are excellent for use with clients with speech or movement restrictions such as apraxia, dyspraxia, and dysarthria.

Like many OPT (Oral Placement Therapy)™ tools, Sensory Bite Blocks are used both for diagnosis and treatment. The set can also be used for teaching jaw positioning and training muscle memory for the production of standard speech sounds.

This TalkTools original promotes jaw strength, stability, and control, and includes two sets of six reusable and durable Bite Blocks with the original TalkTools instruction booklet.
