Weight Boards

The Weight Boards, part of our Montessori Premium collection, are a unique educational tool designed to familiarize children with the concept of weight and baric senses. This innovative teaching material consists of three wooden boxes, each containing a set of seven weight boards. These boards are distinctive not only in weight but also in color, allowing children to playfully understand the relationship between weight and color.

Each box represents a different weight class, ranging from light to heavy, with the lightest boards in the brightest color and the heaviest in the darkest. This color scheme serves as a visual check, enabling children to practice independently and confidently. The weight boards challenge children to hone their sense for fine weight differences and develop their descriptive skills. They also enhance the fine touch in the fingers and the training of the weight sense.

This exercise can be performed with or without a blindfold, depending on the child's level of experience. For more experienced children, using a blindfold adds an extra challenge and stimulates concentration and sensory awareness. Each wooden box measures approximately 9.9 x 6.6 x 6.5 cm, making them easy to handle and store. The contents of the boxes vary in weight: the heavy box contains boards of about 24 grams, the medium-weight 21 grams, and the light 14 grams each.
