With this little wooden man, teachers can immediately and silently identify which group or table neighbours need support.
Pupils simply turn the little man's removable head to have the nose facing up or down. He either looks optimistically upwards (everything is fine) or hangs his head (we need help).
If there are any uncertainties or questions that cannot be clarified with the table neighbour or in the group, the pupils turn the man's head to face downwards. The teacher can instantly recognise if help is needed and approach the group requiring help in a targeted way.
The work phases are therefore considerably quieter, as the pupils are no longer disturbed and distracted by pointing or loud interjections or questions or running back and forth.
Since the head of the emotion man can be moved in various other positions (e.g. nose facing upwards, forwards or backwards), pupils can indicate other signs, signals and nuances. For example, if the head is removed that might mean "we're stuck and need help", while a tilted head might mean "we have a question".
Suitable for group work, silent work or in a regular lesson where one emotion man is given out per table.
