The string is then fixed to the ring on the output pin. The times tables of the corresponding number are then formed. If all multiplications of the respective number form a regular star, the result is correct (self check). If the star is not regular, one of the multiplications is incorrect. Every number creates a different star.

The child chooses a multiplication table (e.g. the six times table), lays the corresponding transparency on the star and connects the string in steps of six around the nails on the star.
